Technology Wages Increase in Fourth Quarter

Quarterly national wage sample of high-impact outsourced technology professionals indicates continued recovery and long-term growth.

PHILADELPHIA—March 21, 2005—Today Yoh, a leading provider of talent and outsourcing services, announced that fourth quarter 2004 wages for U.S. technology workers inched up by one-half of one percent over the same period of 2003, according to the Yoh Index of Technology Wages.  The Index is a quarterly sample of more than 5,000 high-impact technology professionals outsourced on short- and long-term projects by over 1,000 of the nation's top employers.  The Index includes companies in information technology, scientific, engineering, telecommunications, aviation, manufacturing, and public utilities.

"Wages are improving at a slow but steady pace," says Jim Lanzalotto, Vice President, of Strategy and Marketing for Yoh. "Our research indicates that productivity remains strong, and we believe an improved environment for continued and perhaps more robust technology job growth will continue." Lanzalotto continues, "Senior technology professionals who design and administer system architectures for corporate compliance continue to show strong demand."

The Yoh Index of Technology Wages removes the effects of inflation and seasonal hiring by comparing each index point to the previous year, and calculates a percentage change. This edition of The Yoh Index of Technology Wages was recalibrated in the fourth quarter of 2004 to account for a reduction in the number of production-oriented workers, and to provide a greater focus on knowledge-oriented workers.

Complete data from The Yoh Index of Technology Wages for the fourth quarter of 2004 is available at www.yoh.com/yohindex/ . The next Yoh Index of Technology Wages is scheduled for publication in April 2005, and will report wage trends on the first quarter of 2005.
